(1) United Voice for Children - Special offering for underprivileged children in Northern Illinois area (Sep. 5 and throughout September)

(2) Shopping cart in the narthex - Ongoing collecting of nonperishable foods for the New Lenox Food Pantry 

"I went to the food pantry today and the shelves were stocked. the woman there told me that not only were the shelves empty, the past few weeks, but they were running out of money also. the article in the paper helped them tremendously. she uses a certain amount of money each week/month to buy fresh food at the store and she had very little to use this month. she was getting worried. she was very thankful to our church and was telling a volunteer that our church brings in food almost every week."- Mission Committee member, Mrs. J.S. wrote on Sep. 8/2010

(3) Pakistan flood relief effort - The United Methodist Committee on Relief-UMCOR- is coordinating with four partner organizations to support whatever relief efforts are being provided. Donations can be put into the church offering plates designated for UMCOR Advance #982450 and indicate Pakistan Emergency.

(2) Sept. 26th CROP walk for hunger-(2pm at St. Peter United Christ Church, Frankfort) - a walk to raise money to support the lessening of hunger around the world. 25% of monies earned go to local food pantries. You can join the walk or support participants with your donation.

(3) Oct. 3   World Communion Sunday Special Offering - provides scholarships to undergraduate and graduate racial and ethnic-minority students from the Us and international students.  

(4) October 17 - Blankets plus Sunday- Special offerings go to purchase blankets, tools, seeds, and other supplies for people in need around the world. 

(5) November 28 United Methodist Student Day- Special offering for hundreds of students receive scholarships and loans funded by United Methodist Student Day 

(6) December - holiday toy gifts for Ford Heights preschool/kindergarten children (tenative)
