All applications must be received by 10:30 a.m. on the first Sunday in April.

Art Nelson Scholarship
Criteria & Guidelines
1. Recipient must be a member of the United Methodist Church of New Lenox.
2. Recipient must be a high school graduate.
3. Priority of Award --- Individual
     A. Graduating high school senior --- first award
     B. College or vocational school student --- no prior award
     C. Prior recipient
4. Priority of Award --- School
     A. Four (4) year college
     B. Two (2) year college
     C. Vocational school
5. Priority of Award --- Schedule
     A. Full time --- 12 hours or more
     B. Part time
6. Priority of Award --- Major or course of study
     A. Christian Education, the Ministry, or Social Services
     B. Other college major
     C. Vocational School
7. Academic standing will be a major criteria element
8. Activities will be a major criteria element
     A. Church
     B. School
     C. Community
9. Work experience
10. Other Scholarship Awards

Reverend & Mrs. Louis Teague Memorial Scholarship
Criteria & Guidelines
1. Recipient must be a member of the United Methodist Church of New Lenox.
2. Recipient must be a high school graduate.
3. Priority of Award --- Individual
     A. Graduating high school senior --- first award
     B. College student --- no prior award
     C. Prior recipient
4. Priority of Award --- School
     A. Four (4) year college
     B. Graduate school
5. Priority of Award --- Major or course of study
     A. Education, the Ministry, or Music
     B. Social Service-related major
     C. Other college major
6. Academic standing will be a major criteria element
7. Activities will be a major criteria element
     A. Church
     B. School
     C. Community
8. Family ties with the United Methodist Church of New Lenox between 1976 and 1996 or children of current pastors will be given priority whenever possible.
9. Students receiving full scholarships from the institution they will attend or other sources will be required to inform the Scholarship Committee in writing and forfeit the scholarship.
10. Scholarship amount will be no less than $500 and no more than $1,000 per recipient unless there are insufficient funds to grant one $500 scholarship.

Thomas H. and Ruth J. Loverude Scholarship
Criteria & Guidelines
1. The recipient of the scholarship must be a member of the United Methodist Church of New Lenox.
2. Strong preference for the scholarship award shall be given to members who have contributed years of service to the United Methodist Church of New Lenox, such as bell choirs, Herald bells, youth choirs, and youth ministries.
3. Scholastic achievement and grade point average, while important, are not a determining factor. A "B" or "C" grade student who has demonstrated, throughout the years, church service, would be the intended recipient, as compared to a higher ranking scholastic achievement student, who demonstrated lesser church involvement or church service.
4. Awards will be made only to students attending or who have been accepted at a four (4) year college or university.
5. Students receiving full scholarships from the institution they will attend or other sources will be required to inform the Scholarship Committee in writing and forfeit the scholarship.
6. Awards may be granted annually or accumulated for future awards at the discretion of the scholarship committee.
7. Awards may not be granted to the same person more than once.

Richard Swanson Scholarship
Criteria & Guidelines
1. Recipient must be a member of the United Methodist Church of New Lenox.
2. Recipient must be a high school graduate.
3. Priority of Award --- Individual
     A. Graduating high school senior --- first award
     B. College or vocational school student --- no prior award
     C. Prior recipient
4. Priority of Award --- School
     A. Two (2) year college
     B. Vocational school
     C. Four (4) year college
5. Priority of Award --- Major or course of study
     A. Human services or social services
     B. Technical services
     C. Other major
6. The recipient must take a minimum of six (6) credit hours.
7. Academic standing will be a consideration.
8. Economic need will be a consideration.
9. Activities will be a major criteria element
     A. Church
     B. School
     C. Community
10. Work experience
11. Other Scholarship Awards
